Hi, my name is Kate. I’m a pet photographer with a passion for capturing beautiful photos of your fur babies that will keep their legacy and love alive long after they’re gone.

I decided to start Smile & Wag Pet Photography after realising that I didn’t have any good photos - just a few blurry phone photos - from when my heart dog, Nala, was a puppy. Which is why my mission in starting my own pet photography business is to make sure that every Brisbane dog lover can have all of those beautiful memories with their dogs captured in professional quality photos that will last a lifetime - and never look back on their dog’s life and think ‘I wish I had something beautiful that really honours our love to remember them by, not just phone photos.’

As for why I chose natural light outdoor photography over studio photography… well, just look at your dog’s face light up when he goes to the beach or to his favourite park and you’ll see the reason! Getting outdoors is not only one of my favourite things to do, it’s also something that every dog I’ve ever met loves doing too. That’s why the best way to capture your dog’s unique personality in an authentic, natural way is by getting him out to a place that he loves and just letting him be himself! Plus, what could be better than an afternoon at the park creating happy memories with your fur baby?
